tbh, aint no one loves windows 11, can yall add more windows 7 or prior based stuff? or at least cameos, themes, anything? i really love the aero theme from vista to 7. i also personally love windows 98 theme. also, can we add start up sounds again? but the cool ones like 95 to xp?? nice.

i just think windows 11 is a straight fumble. its boring, its nothing special. ppl have to get decoration things like windhawk and they almost always get broken with new dumb updates anyway. (the emojis also suck)

i personally believe windows has just lost all of its personality. is there anything you guys can do (eg: giving us themes that will do certain things to maybe make things like aero theme, different taskbar thats better, startup sounds and more)? i would LOVE it. i don't wanna stay on my old windows 7 cuz of how out of service it is... its genuinely sad.

thx.

This forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any control over what is added to Windows 11, Microsoft have never indicated they intend to add themes to Windows 11 to make it look and feel like previous versions of Windows, and they have never done that with previous versions of Windows, if you prefer Windows 11 to look like a previous version of Windows you would need to use a 3rd party theming utility to change the look and feel of Windows 11 to look like Windows 7...etc.

Submit each requested feature separately through Feedback Hub—Aero/legacy themes, classic Start and taskbar choices, legacy sound schemes, and emoji design—so each suggestion can be categorized and upvoted independently.

    1. Press Win + F.
    2. Search Community feedback for an existing suggestion.
    3. If one matches, upvote it and add a focused comment.
    4. Otherwise, select Give feedback → Make a suggestion.
    5. Give it a specific title, such as:
      • “Add an official Windows 7 Aero theme to Windows 11”
      • “Add Windows 95–7 startup and system sound packs”
      • “Provide built-in classic Start menu and taskbar layouts”
    6. Submit each idea separately rather than combining them. Microsoft specifically recommends one suggestion per feedback item because separate items can be assigned and tracked more effectively.^1^

    What Windows 11 supports now

Windows 11 themes can combine backgrounds, colors, sounds, and mouse cursors:

    1. Open Settings → Personalization → Themes.
    2. Select a built-in theme or Browse themes for Microsoft Store themes.
    3. Open Background, Color, Sounds, and Mouse cursor to customize them.
    4. Return to Themes, select Save, and name the result.^2^

This can reproduce some Windows 7 or Windows 98 styling through wallpaper, color, cursor, and ordinary event sounds, but it cannot replace the Windows 11 shell or recreate Aero Glass.

    Current limitations

    • Aero: The old Aero theme is deprecated and cannot be directly applied in Windows 11, even if related theme files remain for older application compatibility.^3^
    • Classic Start menu: Windows 11 has no built-in option that fully changes Start into the Windows 7-style menu. The supported controls are under Settings → Personalization → Start.^4^
    • Legacy sound packs and startup sounds: Windows 11 does not provide a native selector for Windows XP or Windows 7 sound schemes, including their startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff sounds.^5^

Third-party shell tools remain the only route to deeper Aero, Start, or taskbar transformations. Since those tools can modify the registry or system files, they may break after Windows updates or affect system stability—the behavior already encountered with Windhawk-style customization.^6^ For a dependable setup, use Windows’ native theme controls and send the missing legacy options as separate Feedback Hub requests.
