since a year or so copilot has been installed in my outlook. without asking permission to me. This is an unwanted function. When using the search function Copilot pops up. I do not want Microsoft to read or interfere with my emails. How to remove copilot. Microsoft ofcourse has help functions. But they are usually incomplete and too difficult for consumers. Who has a practical solution?

take for example that function tag: what is it, how and where to fil in?

I know how worrying this seems, jan stolker.

To not waste your time, I'll just be direct: there's no option to turn off Copilot in Classic Outlook. The switch is only available in New Outlook, Outlook on the web, Mac, iOS, and Android. On those platforms, the option would be similar to this:
    User's image

I don't know if this help ease you any bit, but Microsoft guaranteed that the Outlook content is not included for training model. And AI processing is not the same as a person sitting behind the scenes and reading your emails. Microsoft has privacy and security controls governing how Copilot processes content.

Still, I completely understand why you want a straightforward way to disable something you did not choose to use. Unfortunately, it's currently not available for the instance of Outlook you are using. You can try pushing for it with the Feedback option within the app itself.
