Submit a review through Microsoft Rewards Support using the same Microsoft account used in the Xbox app, because only that team can review and restore a suspended Rewards account.

    Request a Rewards review

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Rewards Support page.
    2. Describe:
      • The reward redemption attempted yesterday.
      • The reward and approximate time of the attempt.
      • The suspension message that appeared today.
      • Whether points were deducted or the redemption remains pending.
    3. Ask Support to review both the suspension and the redemption status.
    4. Save the case confirmation and avoid submitting duplicate requests while it is pending.

Microsoft states that Rewards activity involving multiple user accounts, inaccurate account details, IP-location-changing services, automation, earning in multiple countries on the same day, or redeeming outside the country where points were earned can lead to suspension. The support form is the documented escalation route if further help is required.^1^

Check why the game purchase is blocked

A Rewards suspension and a failed Xbox game purchase may be separate restrictions. Test the purchase without applying Rewards points or a reward balance. If it still fails, check these areas:

    1. Microsoft account sign-in: Sign in at account.microsoft.com. If the account is locked, complete the displayed verification process. If no verification option appears, use the reinstatement link shown in the lock message.^2^
    2. Xbox enforcement: Check whether the Xbox profile has an active suspension. Xbox enforcement actions have their own case-review process and are not handled by Rewards Support.^3^
    3. Billing status: Check that the payment method is current and that no subscription payment is overdue. Microsoft’s Store purchasing guidance also identifies Microsoft-account locks and Xbox suspensions as possible purchase blockers.^4^

    Use the matching escalation path:

    • Only Rewards is suspended: Microsoft Rewards Support.
    • The entire Microsoft account is locked: Complete account verification or reinstatement.
    • Xbox shows an enforcement action: Submit an Xbox case review where offered.
    • No account or Xbox restriction appears, but payment still fails: Use Microsoft Store purchase support.
