Whenever I try to log in to admin.microsoft.com using ordinary Edge (or any browser), I see this screenshot. If I click on the button (link), I see errorCode 100014. Acting on the advice of a (live human) Microsoft customer support agent, I have been using a Private window on Edge to log in, which does work but is awkward. Refreshing the screen when I see this page has no effect. How can I correct this problem?screenshot

Delete the Microsoft 365 admin site’s cookies from the normal Edge profile, then reopen the portal and explicitly select your work or school administrator account.

Reset only the affected sign-in state

InPrivate working while the normal session fails indicates that the normal browser profile is reusing stored sign-in or account-selection data. Error 100014 with “Login is not supported for consumer users without business presence” occurs when the admin portal receives a personal Microsoft account rather than an account associated with a Microsoft 365 business tenant.^1^

    1. Close any open Microsoft 365 admin-center tabs.
    2. In Edge, select Settings and more (…) → Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies → See all cookies and site data.
    3. Search for admin.microsoft.com.
    4. Expand the result and select Delete.
    5. Repeat for admin.cloud.microsoft if it appears.
    6. Close Edge completely, reopen it, and navigate to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    7. At the account chooser, select Use another account, then enter the work or school administrator account associated with your organization—not a personal Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, or other consumer account.

Microsoft documents this site-specific cookie deletion path for Edge.^2^ Avoid clearing data across every Microsoft domain initially, because Microsoft sign-in data can be shared with other Microsoft 365 services; deleting targeted site data preserves unrelated sessions where possible.^3^

If those entries are not present or targeted deletion does not fix it, press Ctrl+Shift+Delete, choose an appropriate time range, select Cookies and other site data, and clear it. This broader action signs you out of most websites.^2^

If a clean normal session still shows the permission page

Verify that the account used in InPrivate is exactly the same one selected in the normal window. The Microsoft 365 admin center requires a Microsoft 365 organizational account with suitable administrator permissions; purchasing a Microsoft 365 business subscription initially grants admin permissions to the purchaser, who can assign roles to others.^4^

If the clean session accepts the account but reports that it lacks permission:

    • For a business, ask the existing Microsoft 365 administrator to assign the necessary admin role.
    • For a school or larger organization, contact its IT help desk.
    • If the affected account is the only administrator, sign in through the working InPrivate session and open Help & support in the admin center to create a service request.
