Hello,

Whether Wiki pages and Wiki library can be migrated from SP2013 to SPO using SPMT tool? If this is not supported, what is the recommendation - recreate Wiki pages in SPO?

As per this article on SPMT supported lists, Wiki Page Library (List Template ID: 119) is supported. But does that mean Wiki pages within that library can be migrated to SPO?

Also, Is it recommended to enable Wiki Pages in SPO? Looks like we need to activate a feature to get the Wiki Page Library.

Yes, wiki pages within wiki library can be migrated from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online using SPMT tool.

For example, wiki page in Site Pages library can be migrated to SPO as shown below(this is my sample test):

However, publish pages(except default error page) in Pages library will not be migrated, it will be skipped:

Although the Wiki page library has no additional features to activate, in SharePoint Online, we recommend that you use modern pages instead of classic pages (wiki pages).

If we migrate Wiki pages (Classic) to SPO using SPMT, can we transform these pages to Modern Pages as mentioned here or would it be better to recreate them using Modern Page templates in SPO from scratch?

I have been trying to see if Wiki pages within SP2013 Site Pages library can be migrated using SPMT. Unfortunately I'm unable to see "Site Pages" library when connecting to the source SP2013 environment in SPMT tool. I can see "Site Assets", but Site Pages library is not showing up in the drop down list after specifying the source URL.

Are there any reasons for this, or do we need to perform anything configuration change to make this library visible in SPMT tool?

Yes, there is no Site Pages library under the chosen list, normally, we migrate the entire site, which will include all wiki pages in site pages library:

@JulieWang-MSFT - using trial version of any 3rd party tools (e.g. Sharegate) will be helpful in this case only for Wiki pages? I know there are some limitations in trial versions, but is that suggested?

Currently there is no OOB tool to migrate the wiki pages under Site Pages individually instead of migrating complete site.

In addition, we are not able to provide support on any third-party tools. So I would suggest you seek help from third-party suppliers.

One last question - if we copy/move these wiki pages to a normal document library within source (may be with powershell, need to check whether it works), can this be migrated using SPMT tool then?

Yes, you could copy wiki pages to a normal library, in this way, we can migrate the single normal library including wiki pages to SharePoint online via SPMT.

@JulieWang-MSFT - It looks like if we copy wiki pages to a normal library and then migrate to SPO, then these pages won't open in SPO site. Also, we cannot copy this page from normal library to Site Pages or Wiki Pages in SPO site. Do you have an option to confirm whether this method is supported?

Per my test, I copy them to a normal library via content and structure, then migrate it to SPO using SPMT, the migration is successfully and we can still use the site in SPO:

I have tried what you explained just above.
I have copied, using Content and Structure, the Wiki page to the Shared Document Library. Is it what you called normal Library?
When I migrate the Wiki Page from the Shared Document Library to a Site Page in SPO, I get the following error:

The selected source list '../Shared Documents' has a different template with the target list '../SitePages' (ErrorCode: 0x02010010)

That seems a normal error, So I do not understand how you can migrate such a page.
What did I miss?

It seems to me that SharePoint Migration Tool at this point still doesn't support Wiki page and Site Pages libraries at all. These pages libraries are not recognized and shown in the dropdown of the tool. A temporary solution probably we can try: Use the Content and Structure feature from the site settings to move the pages from the Wiki/SitePages libraries to some normal library. After that, they can be migrated with this normal library.

But those old on-prem sites cannot be displayed / opened in SPonline.
Do you use the PnP SharePoint modernization script then?
