User activation fails for "Microsoft 365 Apps for business" after upn change

Hi there,

after a UPN change (only surname) in an Azure AD Hybrid Enviroment, the user activation of "Microsoft 365 Apps for business" fails.

After the user signs in (new User Profile) to an on-premise computer and opens Word or Excel, the app is in read-only mode, but the display account name is the new.
Log out and new in doesn`t help.

The change was few days ago.

Separate installations of teams and one-drive, on the other hand, do not cause any problems...

does anyone have a tip?

Thanks

    Hi @Markus Männl ,
    Welcome to Q&A forum!

Considering that there is no problem with OneDrive and Teams, I would suggest that you try to reset Microsoft 365 Apps activation state to check this issue. For more inforamtion, please refer to: Reset Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise activation state.

If the above does not work, please refer to the steps in the following official KB to check again.
