Hi
I have offline files enabled for my users Desktop, Documents.
Sometimes these files get corrupted and I have to disable offline files and let them to re-sync.
One of my users uses VPN and files sync after couple of hours.
After a restart this files are removed from the local computer and desktop is empty so the user gets error message windows cannot access \fileserver\user\Desktop
Thanks

    Hi John,

In regards to your issue, the following are my suggestions:

    1. Please try to access the network path using IP address (\192.168.1.xxx\Folder Redirection) or FQDN(\SERVERNAME.domain.tld\Folder Redirection) and test the connection. And Run 'nslookup ip'command to check the connect with VPN server.
    2. Make sure the client have the read permisiions on the home folder. Because the Offline Folder functionality checks the user's permissions on the root share when it first establishes synchronization. For more details, you can refer to the following link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-sg/help/275461/users-may-receive-an-access-is-denied-error-message-if-you-make-files https://www.dummies.com/programming/networking/network-administration-granting-share-permissions/
    3. The "slow-link mode" in win7 Windows Server 2008 R2(with default settings) may cause shares explorer status working offline, you can disable it mannually. For more details, you can refer to the following link: https://www.syswow64.co.uk/2012/09/windows-7-offline-files-will-not-go.html

    Best regards, Gloria

    Hi
Fqdn is used as the path.
There is no problem with accessing the share but once this is synced on a client PC all files are removed after a reboot and start to resync again.
The client is windows 10 and the server 2012R2

Thanks for the article but I don't think this addresses my issue.
I have offline files enabled by GPO to sync files in redirected folders.
