Hi,
rather than explain it from scratch please read this thread.
disk-ltngt-has-the-same-disk-identifiers-as-one-or-more-disks-connected-to-the-system

It's a bug that has been there for years and today October 2021 its still an issue.
its to do with the way USB external drives attach to windows 10.
I also notice that Microsoft has not only ignored the issue but has stopped responding to forum questions about it.
Its not a hard drive issue and its not a MPIO issue.

So my question is . How far away are we from having this issue fixed?
I'm looking at you Microsoft

Replying to confirm I was able to resolve this for my PC. This might help someone else.

At some point I had tried AMD StoreMI on my PC and removed it. But it had replaced my "Standard AHCI SATA controller" with a different driver called "AMD virtualized AHCI controller for StoreMI". As soon as I replaced it with the standard AHCI controller driver, the correct unique IDs started showing for all my SATA drives.
