how to enable and display Sleep option in Win10?

Dear experts,

So we have hundreds of laptops, LENOVO L380/390 and HP Probooks. We noticed that there is NO sleep option in Shutdown settings, even after we enabled it via Group policy.

Any idea how we can have it back by any chance?

Thanks a lot.

    Dear friends,

Thanks a lot for all your comments and suggestions. I've searched around and now we came to a conclusion that the Sleep option might not be available for some machines.

It seems to be more than a hardware functionality case instead of software level setting. Some hardware they just don't support sleep.

Thanks again for all your efforts and sorry for the troubles created.

    Hi @Eaven HUANG ,

Do you mean that there is no option for Shut Down?

To reset and restore all default power plans to default settings > open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

Sometimes the power troubleshooter may be useful.

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    msdt.exe /id powerdiagnostic

The title of the thread was changed to sleep.

Please click on the drop down arrow on the image in the opening post > post a new image into the next post

When I press the power button it typically displays:

    Do nothing
    Sleep
    Hibernate
    Shut down
    Turn off the display

    Edit:
The latest post was just seen.

It appears that modern standby is unavailable:

    Hi there,

    Was sleep mode working before?

You can try restoring the Power plan and the GPO too if you have implemented anything new in recent times.

Open Settings > System. Then, under Power & sleep settings, click Additional power settings. From here, select Choose when to turn off the display. Select Restore default settings for this plan.
