As previously mentioned here: windows-11-deployment-via-wds.html , we cannot install Windows 11 via Windows Deployment Services (WDS) using boot.wim.
My workflow has been as follows:
- Download Windows ISO and get install.wim and boot.wim
- Deploy install.wim, boot.wim in WDS
- Boot from PXE
- Install Windows
My questions are:
- Could someone tell me how I can accomplish this in the future, when installing Windows 11? Microsoft points to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT). But how does it work? Which one would be appropriate for my task?
- How much more complicated is this going to be?
- Will I require additional licenses or non-free Microsoft products?
