Microsoft Remote Desktop keeps getting disconnected whenever mac goes to sleep. Not able to auto- reconnect

Hi,
I recently got the new macbook pro (M1 Pro 14") with the latest iOS, and I'm using the official microsoft remote desktop app to connect to a computer. It works fine, but if my computer goes to sleep, the session disconnects and it's very hard to do autoconnect. I end up having to close the session and then open it back again. This is very unfriendly for a user, so I wanted to know if I'm doing something wrong.
I can change the sleep setting on my mac to 15 mins or even 1 hour, but this problem is something I'd like to get rid of, by tweaking the issues on the RDP app side.

Ekkehard Blanz 0 Reputation points2024-01-17T00:52:39.6366667+00:00 Up until the last macOS update (up to and including Sonoma 14.0.0), it was possible to do a Ctrl-Cmd-Q to lock the screen to prevent that from happening - it only happens when the Mac goes to sleep by itself. With Sonoma 14.2.1 this no longer works. If that is important to you - don't upgrade to 14.2.1 until somebody finds a solution/workaround.
