Hi there

What are the pros and cons of having users use MS Teams to store/share documents, instead of OneDrive?
Users will need to share documents with both internal users (within our company) and external users (outsiders).

Thanks.

    Hi @frob ,

Yes this is a good question.

As we know, files in channels should be saved on the SharePoint site while 1v1 chat files are saved on OneDrive > Microsoft Teams Chat Files.

So actually we are talking about the differences with SharePoint and OneDrive.

For me the SharePoint could be more public for you and your workmates to share files/documents and work with them at the same time. While the OneDrive could be more private that you do share files with others but not so collaborative.

It's hard for me to tell you more details and benifits about using SharePoint but I do think it's a great tool not just file sharing:)
