Strange logs... in Software Update wsyncmgr.log

Question

Hello,

I launched "Synchronization Software Updates" from the console and when checking the logs I saw some strange numbers...

1. the total number is suddenly decreasing from 2,481 to 847
2. the step also decreasing from 767 to 615
   then back to 2481
   then back to 847

this is really strange

Hi @Duchemin, Dominique ，

Could we know if there are several software update points in our servers? If yes, are these SUPs shared with the same SQL database? If yes, that is what is going to happen.

Besides, during synchronization, is there any errors? If not, we could sync normally and ignore the above situation.

Hello,

Yes we have 2 software update points servers in our environment.
Yes, they are sharing the same SQL database.

1. Should the 2 SUP have the same number of patches?
2. This is running for 3 years and I never go this alert before?

The synchronization failed first:

Should the 2 SUP have the same number of patches?

Based on my experience, it need not have the same number of patches, we could select the classification and updates to meet our requirement.
Besides, it is hard to control the same number of patches in two SUPs.

At such situation, it could be that two SUPs sync at the same time. We could try not to sync both SUPs at the same time.
