Can any assist me for understanding the below one. example : VM Backup is scheduled @ 9 o'clock utc+1 and after DST changes applied, it is running on the same time without changing the vm schedule manually, but Microsoft document recommended to change the policies manually for vm backup.

"Azure Backup doesn't support automatic clock adjustment for daylight saving time for Azure VM backups. It doesn't shift the hour of the backup forward or backwards. To ensure the backup runs at the desired time, modify the backup policies manually as required."

we have changed the backup schedule to 1 hr ahead, now backup is running 11 PM utc+1 instead of 10 PM. so can you please explain if any one has faced the same issue.

can anyone update, whether we need to change the schedule for SQL backup also?.I can see that backup is running 1 hr ahead. whether we need to reduce 1 hr in schedule? dst also not adjusted for sql backup also?

Note: we are using azure portal in IST time zone.

Hi @Siva Thank you for your post and I apologize for the delayed response!

Your understanding is correct. Azure Backup does not support automatic adjustment of clock for daylight-saving changes for backing up Azure VM. If required, modify the policy to take the daylight savings time change into account.

SQL Backup schedule works within the VM, so it will adjust the time accordingly.
