Hi,

I have a newly promoted Domain Controller called 21, upon checking the replication I get this error.

And in the event viewer I got this error.

And some other error related to DNS such as opening the console. It shows an X icon on the dns server. When I try to access via dns console remotely it says that server 21 is not a DNS server. I checked other working DC if server21's record as nameservers is there but its not. I do not know what went wrong, I followed the usual domain controller installation and promotion.

    Hi @Janus Bariñan

The error would suggest that the DC is unable to get a RID pool allocation, the suggestion would be to check that the RID master is on-line and is accessible from the new DC.

This post provide details on how to confirm which DC is the RID master, and that RID pool hasn't been exhausted. You can use this post to confirm that the firewall\port are open. You can use this post to confirm that the schema version on each DC.

    Gary.
