Hi I am upgrading from AD connect 1.4.18 (old 2008 box) to a windows 2016
once I install the AD connect on the windows 2016 i will copy the migwizard.ps1 to the new old server so I can export the json file
my environment is set up with ADFS
once I install with the configuration script should this have all the OU's and config settings e.g Exchange Hybrid set up
in a small test i noticed it updates ADFS configuration as well does this cause any issues?

when i install this should we leave this in staging mode and uncheck sync until i run the document script to compare both config files. Once they all look good and insync leave it running in staging mode and turn on Sync.
when sync is on in staging mode does this just sync from AD but never to Azure?

thank you for your time and thoughts.

Yes, build the new server and leave it in Staging Mode. This will prevent exports to Azure.
If everything looks good after your checks, enable Staging Mode on the current AADConnect Server, then disable Staging Mode on the new server and it will export to Azure.
