Hi All,

I am running a tenant which is on Microsoft 365 A0. Now I wanted to leverage the security functionalities in A5. For trial purposes I assigned an Microsoft 365 A5 license to one of the accounts.

Now, I rebuilt one of the Windows 10 boxes and tried to do an AAD Join during the setup as well as after the setup. Both delivered the same error 81080014. I found some information on the internet but could not find anything which helped me solve this issue.

All the accounts are AAD only, no on-prem AD involved

Any idea?

Thank you
Roger

I think I solved the problem but need to dig deeper why it happened. As the default policy does not allow to use personal devices, I added my own policy to allow for that and added the trial group in there. Somehow, however, this policy did not fire. Changing the default solved the underlying problem. Now I need to investigate why the policy did not kick in.
