Dear

Hi,

I have one issue with Failover cluster accidentally some shared Disk bring to Offline , I had checked as below information :

Firstly : it happen this error : Connection to the target was lost. The initiator will attempt to retry the connection. SourceIscsiprt
Secondly : the source IscsiprtTarget failed to respond in time for a login request
Moreover : the source Iscsiprt Initiator failed to connect to the target. Target IP address and TCP Port number are given in dump data.

The result of the previous errors:

  • Disk 4 has been surprise removed.

-Cluster resource 'Cluster Disk 4' of type 'Physical Disk' in clustered role '3cbf0f4f-e7d5-4191-baeb-3a9645a430ac' failed.
Based on the failure policies for the resource and role, the cluster service may try to bring the resource online on this node or move the group to another node of the cluster and then restart it. Check the resource and group state using Failover Cluster Manager or the Get-ClusterResource Windows PowerShell cmdlet.

-luster physical disk resource terminate encountered an error.

Physical Disk resource name: Cluster Disk 4
Device Number: 4
Device Guid: {d7d8cd87-f02c-6b68-933d-5c26874ca179}
Error Code: 1168
Additional reason: ReleaseDiskPRFailure

I appreciate if someone have a good knowledge or experience to explain why this happen,

Thanks & Regards,

    1. It can happen if there was Network Disconnection between your storage ( SAN ) or from your iSCSI client server ( iSCSI Initiator ).
    2. Please open Disk Management and see if you are able to see the Disk 4 and able to connect it.
    3. Please open iSCSI Initiator and See all Targets are showing connected state.
    4. Disable any Antivirus program or Windows firewall you may have for temporary purpose.
