On my Apple Watch, the authenticator app is stuck on: "get started by adding a personal microsoft account on the phone app"
I have a personal account among many others on the phone app.
Any ideas?

Exact same issue with me. The reason why I downloaded this app from the app store was because it said it works with Apple watch. IT DOES NOT.
I'm considering switching to another authenticator app, because this product does not work as advertised. All my research online led me nowhere to fix this issue. I think I'm going to try Duo instead. Microsoft only wants you to use Microsoft products, so I would imagine this issue will not be fixed.

Absolutely the same, with a 2nd gen Watch SE and WatchOS 9.1. Authenticator seems to be broken. I tried some of the workarounds suggested, but it doesn't work at all. It can't see the personal accounts linked to my iPhone.

Found a fix. I had to add a password back into my Microsoft Accounts, they were set to passwordless.
Now I can acknowledge the prompts, and not get that stupid "unable to communicate with the phone error"

Authenticator has had serious issues with Apple Watch for over a year.
I don’t think Microsoft is interested in fixing it.
