Hi

From the reading I can see my Intel Core I7-7600U is not compatible to Windows 11. My laptop is only 2 years old. Is there anyway to upgrade this or should I be concerned with security running on windows 10pro? Better yet will updates still be issued for the 4 years before windows 10 becomes obsolete?

Windows 10 is fully supported (Windows and Microsoft Defender updates, etc.) through October 14, 2025 (approximately 4 more years).

Windows 11 can be clean installed in most computers including desktops, laptops, and tablets.

To test drive Windows 11 you can use third party software to make free backup images.

Then you can clean install Windows 11 > test drive > restore an image when you've completed the test drive.

Windows 10 can be upgraded to Windows 11 if the end user modifies the registry and files so that the upgrade assistant no longer recognizes the checked parameters.

These methods are available on multiple websites.

@Karl King did you have the chance to try Windows 11 on your i7-7600U? I have a Dell Latitude 7380 with this processor and would be very interested in your feedback :)
Thank you both @Karl King and @Docs for sharing!

    Hi All,

I gave up trying to source the solution for this only because I am time poor and after checking out what is possible I worry if I mess up then who knows what I will loose. Whilst I have everything I still have not upgraded to Windows 11 but I run updates as they happen. I might just buy a new laptop tbh. Sagwe-9968 what does the snip mean? I have 4 Gig RAM spare, have secure boot and TPM. 210569-image.png

If you're Looking for windows 11 compatibilty Use A Modified Version Of Windows 11 called Tiny11, Tiny11 Removes The Need For Checking System Compatibility And Its Identical To Windows 11 And Isnt a version of linux nor its own operating system. Tiny11 It Just modifies the settings for older computers to run windows 11 and so it can run newer programs And the intel core i7 7600U Will be Able to run Tiny11 With The Programs Working Just Fine. Hope This Helps!
