Hi All,

We have a very strange problem that software suspended in the task manager. Sometimes after 30 seconds the application starts and sometimes you have to wait 5 minutes. The strange thing is it is not all the time and it is not every time the same application, than it is Google Chrome and later Notepad++ or Outlook etc. It was starting when the KB5005565 was installed on the desktop/laptops when we removed the KB the problem was gone, later the KB5006670 come out and the problem was back. In addition, when it was possible to remove the KB5006670 the problem looks gone. Therefore, I have installed the new security update KB5007186 but then the problem is still there so I think there is something else going on.

I cannot find something in the event viewer, we did the two command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow, we cleared the C:\Windows\Prefetch folder, We turned off the Exploit protection. When an application is suspended the cpu, disk and memory is all normal.

Yesterday my notepad++ suspended a few times and today no problems at all.

I hope somebody can help us with this strange problem.

    Hi itsupport-5688,

There might be some third party applications that is conflicting within your system. Try performing a clean boot to eliminate these conflicts. Here's how:

    1. Click the start screen, and type msconfig. Click system configuration.
    2. On the System configuration window, select the services tab.
    3. Click the box at the bottom, beside the hide all Microsoft services text.
    4. Click "Disable all" at the right side.
    5. Click Apply, then OK, and it will ask you to restart your computer so just click OK again.

If the clean boot doesn't sort the issue run a quick check on the below points

Make sure that your Windows 10 is up to date.
    Check your antivirus.
    Create a new user account.
    Delete the Roaming profile.

    Hi All,

Sorry for the very late reply, I did a clean boot and on that moment there where a few non Microsoft services still running.
Those services where from McAfee so I decided to remove all the McAfee software for test.
Still the problem is there that sometimes software is suspending in the task manager.

    Hi All,

    Did some tests:

New AD account and logged in on a laptop where the problems are, result is still suspended software.
On the same laptop I created a local user account and still suspended software.
After this I have disconnected the laptop from the network and till this moment no suspended software.
But this is the problem the problem is not always there, so i must do some more tests if it is really gone with no network.
