Hi,
I want to configure restrictions on a user account for public use in Windows 10 as following:

Account can only access Microsoft Edge
Account cannot download anything
Account cannot change the settings on Microsoft Edge
Account cannot install anything
Account cannot save files to the PC

And is there any way to configure the computer to open Microsoft Edge automatically once the computer is turned on?

Many thanks!

    Hi @Ninfia Mouse

You can certainly achieve your required config without using kiosk mode, but I would highly recommend using assigned access kiosk mode for simplicity and security.

You have two options to do without kiosk mode:

    1. Use third party software
    2. Manually

To replicate manually, you will need to use:

Hope that helps, I have used kiosk mode before and it's a lot easier than manually doing it.

    Kind regards,

    Hi there,

Yes you can do this without Kiosk mode. This must be done with combining AppLocker so that all other apps are restricted from use.

Open the Windows Run dialog (Windows Key + R).

Copy the following path to the Run dialog, and then press Enter.

    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Open the Start Screen, right-click the Office program you want to automatically start, and click Open file location. This might be under the More submenu.

Copy (Ctrl + C) the program shortcut and then paste (CTRL +V) it to the Startup folder you opened in Step 2.
