I have a free azure account and am trying to create a new Function App. But there is an option missing in the Hosting section. I cannot see the "Storage account" option. Only things I see are OS selection and plan selection option. I have tried to log off and log in, creating function app and storage account in a another resource group, in another regions but still no luck. I have created multiple function apps with upgraded account and there never seen this issue/bug.

@Anupam Nath We are sorry to hear you are encountering this issue. It sounds like a UI/UX issue that you are encountering.

Are you using the standard portal? (https://portal.azure.com)?

If so, can you please try creating the resource via the preview portal to see if this helps to resolve the issue? (https://preview.portal.azure.com).

I can see the storage account option in either portal but I hope the preview portal might assist you.

The only other item I can think of is to ensure you have selected a resource group within the basics tab.

Please let us know if you are still encountering this issue. We look forward to your reply.

can you change storage account used by Function app after it will be created? I.e. go to Function app > Configuration and change connection strings stored in AzureWebJobsDashboard and AzureWebJobsStorage app settings.

Hello all - This appears to be an expected behavior stemming from the fact that the underlying Storage Account isn't free. For more info, please review the following thread: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/158731/index.html
