Local server does not respond to ping

Hello

I have the following concern,

I have a server where I connect remotely. However, in order to connect to that server, I must first enter another server and then connect to remote desktop.

What strikes me is that when I connect to the server, and ping, the ping does not respond locally.

But if I ping from another server that is in the same VLAN, the ping does respond.

Ping is not responding locally.

The firewall is disabled on the server.

To summarize I make two remote desktop connections

the first connection is to the jump server and the second remote connection is to the server where the local ping does not respond

In which case, where are you pinging it from a Local network (LAN), or from the internet?

If it won't respond to PING on a local network (ethernet, usually), then it could be a Firewall setting.

Locate the 'File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request –ICMPv4-In'), right-click on it and select Enable Rule. That will allow incoming ping requests and respond to them without completely disabling Windows firewall service.

Ping what? and from what? An unedited ipconfig /all of both may be helpful

when I connect to the server I ping its respective IP, but it does not respond.

so if I connect to another server that is configured in the same vlan, I ping the ip of that server and if it responds

Try disabling the firewall for testing. What about the network topology? If there are routers or VLANs in the middle and the routes are not set, they will drop the packages. But in that case, Request timeout, it's likely the firewall, which is normal, you don't want your server answering pings to anyone.
