For the Teams and Skype (consumer) interoperability, I cannot (for the life of me) understand why the Skype ID cannot be used when searching for Skype users.

To search for Skype users in Teams, you'd have to use the Skype email. Who the hell knows the Skype email of other users?! This makes migrating from Skype to Teams very difficult if you cannot easily migrate your Skype contacts to Teams.

Any why not enable the migration of your entire Skype contact list to Teams? Hell, web-based email platforms are able to import contacts from one to another easily since two decades ago, and yet Microsoft is not able to do it for platforms you already own.

    Hi @Dondi Alentajan

There is no official document explain about why we cannot use Skype ID to search in Teams client. Based on my knowledge, Skype ID can only search user in Skype client. It is set by design. You could read this article to know more details about it.
