Windows Server 2019 ISO download from Azure

Hello,
I am a teacher to bachelor students.
I want to install using a virtualisation software, Windows Server 2019 (running locally on the students laptops).
I can download Widnows Server 2019 from the evaluation website. But this is only 180days available.
I have created an Azuere account.
Can someone provide me the link to the Windows Server 2019 ISO on Azure, so I can teach all nice things about Active Directory to my students.

Hi @Erik Vanheusden ,

You cannot download the Windows Server operating system images from Azure, but you can create virtual machines (VMs) running these Windows Server operating systems instead.

If you go to the Azure Marketplace you'll find the different versions of Windows operating systems that you can use for your VMs.

The only way to actually download a Windows Server image is from the Evaluation Center but they are only available for 180 days as you've mentioned.

You don't mention where this VM is running sorry so I have to ask.

How do you get there from the home screen? Can you explain the steps please?
I can only click "Virtual Machines" then ""Make"..... totally other layout.

No unfortunately Azure VMs cannot be "downloaded", they can be migrated but that's a different story.

To get to the Azure Marketplace, search for "Marketplace" in the upper search bar and click on "Marketplace" once you find it.
In the Marketplace you can also search, type the operating system that you want to search for, for example: "Windows Server 2019".

However if you want to create an Azure VM, it would be easier if you go to the Virtual Machine tab on the left-hand side of your Azure Portal.

Click on "Virtual Machines"

Then click on Create and select Virtual Machine

There you can then select the "Image" of your Virtual Machine, as follows:

If you're new to Azure, that's totally fine! I would then recommend checking out the Microsoft Learn modules (they are free), this will get you started with Azure :)
