Mouse clicks stop working in RDP session

I have seen some similar posts, but not exactly the same....
I have one 2019 Server that, when I remote into, mouse clicks stop working after some unspecified time. In order to fix, closing the RDP session (without logging out) and starting it again resolves the issue, but it may reoccur. This becomes quite annoying when needing to use that system.
I was hoping someone may have some insight into why this may be happening and how to resolve it permanently.

Thank you!

I found a workaround which might work for you (my use case is a bit different with Hyper-V, see comment above).

When this happens, I do the following:

    • Type Windows Key + "D" to minimize all windows and go back to Desktop
    • Right-click 2 times on an empty area on the Desktop: the 1st one does nothing, the 2nd one opens the Desktop menu.
    • Mouse left-click works again.

Let me know if it helps.

This has been bugging me for AGES.

I found that by allowing plug and play devices fixed the issue!
