Windows 11 installation assistant unsupported CPU

I have a Dell Precision 5520 with i7-7820HQ.

The PC Health Check app says its supported and I also checked the minimum requirements page which says that this processor is supported.

When I open the installation assistant, the first screen says that my hardware checks out and I am able to install Windows 11.

The setup downloads and verifies the download files for windows 11. After that it begins the installation process.

After the install completes, there is a screen which checks if the PC is compatible again and I get an error here saying that my processor is unsupported. After that the whole install fails and all changes are reverted.

I tried a couple of times and get the same error. Is there a fix for this ?

Came across this thread on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/q2a0bc/windows_11_on_precision_5520/

Either Dell needs to update drivers to pass the check or Microsoft needs to fix something.

I went through with the registry update to upgrade to Windows 11.

If you get This PC meets Windows 11 requirements with PC Health Check app, then you can try manual upgrade:

    Hope this helps!

@Kapil Arya I wanted to avoid the ISO method and go with the installation assistant. The ISO method is if I cant get this to work or if Microsoft does not push the update to my device.

@Docs I'll capture those logs and post later today.
