Hi @EQ Qian , so can you find the VC_redist.x64.exe file under this C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{855e31d2-9031-46e1-…} directory which the error message prompted? If it doesn’t exist, can you find it in any other subfolders of this C:\ProgramData\Package Cache directory? If you can find it, please try to double-click it and run it then choose Uninstall.

Hi, I could not find that cached filed and looked through the subfolders and did not find anything named that. What other methods can I try to resolve this issue? Thanks for your time.

I tried using the troubleshooter and tried to uninstall the application that was giving me a difficult time, but it did not resolve the issue. I am still running into the same issue in the screenshot I sent in this ticket. Are there any other possible methods I could try to resolve this issue?

Do nothing - if it's not causing a problem, leave it be.

It is causing a problem because I can't install a new version of it without removing the old version. I need the new version for applications, but when I'm installing the application, it says it cannot find this file and it recommends me to install it. When I try to install the latest version off of the Microsoft website, it tells me that an existing one already exists, but it actually doesn't exist. I've been trying to troubleshoot it, but with no luck, I still can't uninstall it. By clean machine OS installation, do you mean a factory reset? Thanks for your time.

Sadly, yes - clean OS installation, or factory reset if that's all that's available to you.
The troubleshooter has fixed uninstall issues for me a couple of times when I've needed it.
I usually do all development work in a VM, so starting afresh isn't quite such a catastrophic event.
You could try trawling the registry for references to that Guid and zap them all - as a last ditched attempt before starting from scratch!

There is also a tool available from the windows SDK. See msizap-exe. Before using it I strongly suggest a complete system backup.

Does this folder( C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{855…} ) include some other files? I’m not sure whether the cache is still registered(stored) in Registry of Windows OS. You can find the entry here Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{855…} or here Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{855…}, and perhaps you need to clean it. I’m not sure if deleting it works, you can make a backup and then have a try. And I suggest you ask this question on Windows Community as well.

Open Registry Editor
Go to [Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall]
Find "{855e31d2-9031-46e1...} and Remove the Entry.
