Technically the maximum number of reservations you can have, should be same as the number of IP addresses you have in the address pool. However, I've never tested this.

Does Windows Server had a maximum limit on the amount of DHCP Reservations that can be created? If so, what is the maximum amount of reservation entries that can be created?

I suspected that there will be no limit, since I couldn't find any info to that extent online, but I also don't have a way of testing it currently. The background to my question is whether Microsoft Server will be a better DHCP Server option than for example a firewall (Fortigate), which has a maximum DHCP reservations limit of 200 on some of the older Forti operating systems and 512 on the newer Forti OS's.

2021-11-24T07:25:59.803+00:00 If you do want to test the limit, there is a powershell command that you can use to automate the creation of the reservations.
As to which will be the better dhcp server, I can answer that one. You will need to compare the functionality and your requirements between the two offerings and see which is better solution.
