Hi,

Is there any Pro and Con by updating the Exchange CU traditional update vs "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows" on the Windows server update setting?

Any comment will greatly appreciated.

    Hi ZhengqiLou-MSFT,

Thanks for your response. One more question; we already have Exchange 2016 with CU 20. If we want to update to the latest CU, will checking "Other Microsoft products updates" be sufficient to get us to the latest CU? Or we have to down the latest CU and manually install it?

    Thanks

    Hi @Tee356 ,

The CU packages are full installations of the Exchange server which means you could install any CUs to a fresh server.

And the "Other Microsoft products updates" means some patchs to the products, this will not help you install the product itself.

For Exchange, this means the Security updates(SU) like:

    Best regards,
