Azure Synapse Parquet File Sink to Synapse Serverless SQL Pool Error

I tried to copy a parquet data file to my Synapse Serverless SQL Pool and getting the following error:

A database operation failed with the following error: 'External table 'dbo' is not accessible because location does not exist or it is used by another process.' External table 'dbo' is not accessible because location does not exist or it is used by another process., SqlErrorNumber=16562,Class=16,State=1, Activity ID: bd9a507d-2d01-46e6-abee-d49ad814cc89

The table was created by using the Synapse UI using the create external table options. After I've created the table, I tried to sink another updated parquet file to the table.

Is this operation permitted?

Could you please let me know the following details:

Is this the first time you are observing this issue for this same query? Are you also observing the same issue when running any other query?

Are you using any client tool such as SSMS? It would be interesting to evaluate if your query is failing in both Synapse Studio and SSMS.

Could you please share the query statement that you are running so I can have more context on the use case
