I want to make the Android RD Client choose automatically the TOUCH mode rather than the default Cursor one. Is there a way of doing it?

I also need this possibility.
I installed the June 2022 version of Microsoft RDP from the site https://apkpure.net/remote-desktop/com.microsoft.rdc.androidx/versions and the problem was solved. After selecting the TOUCH mode the first time, the app remembered this setting.
P.S. Don't forget to change the settings of the app not to install any updates.

I distinctly remember that earlier versions of Remote Desktop for Android saved whatever the last selected mode (touch or cursor) was for a given PC entry as the default mouse mode, but at some point it changed and it always defaults to cursor mode no matter what. I really would like some way to set touch mode as default so I don't always have to switch modes when connecting.

Reading this for reasons a while later - and these non-answers fill the internet with stuff you rather didn't want.
Not attacking; you probably did think it was an answer, but it's not. And the issue remains.

it seems that some previous versions used to store the last selected setting, while the current version no longer does so. Therefore, every time you reopen the connection, it is necessary to go and select the touch mode.
