    Hi @juliediane ,

    Q1:
Could you please tell us which version of Office are you using now?

Generally, Office Apps could be used on offline mode.
But there are some special cases, for example, Microsoft 365 Apps needs to conect to Internet at least once every 30 days to renew activation.
If the computer goes offline for more than 30 days, Microsoft 365 Apps enters reduced functionality mode until the next time a connection can be made.
For more about this information, you could refer to "Activating Microsoft 365 Apps".

    Q2:
Where do you store the Excel workbooks?

    • Please check whether this aticle "Recover an earlier version of an Office file" is helpful.
    • If you have enabled AutoSave and AutoRecover in Options > Save > the boxes of "Save AutoRecover information every X minutes" and "Keep the last AutoRecovered version if I close without saving" were ticked.

It's recommended to go to the AutoRecover file location, check whether there is any .xar files to recovery your data.
More information, please checkout this article "Description of the Auto-Recover functions in Excel".

Any updates, you could let me know.
