Hello,

I counter a slowness in running an accounting software on Hyper-V VM which connect to A Dongle reach by network. The scenario as following:

  • The slowness problem appears when the Host is (Windows Server 2016/2019) and the Guest is (Windows Server 2016/2019), The software takes 15-20 sec to run.
  • But problem DOES NOT appear when the Host is (Windows Server 2016/2019) BUT Guest is (Windows Server 2012), The software runs in 5 Sec.
  • ALSO problem DOES NOT appear when the Host is (Win10 OR Windows Server 2012) and The guest (Windows Server 2016/2019), The software runs in 5 Sec.
  • The software runs in 5 sec on any physical machines.

Any ideas about this problem.!

The table explain the scenario.

Thanks in Advance.

    Hello @Yamen Aljalloudi

There is no clear system explanation can can be given for a 3rd party application about such small difference in performance. Your best shot is to contact the software company to report this behavior for them to investigate a bug or compatibility issue.

What I would check, the usual culprits:

    • Any spike in resources when it takes longer?
    • Any relevant events in Application or System Event viewer both on Guest or Host?
    • Have you tried running on some compatibility mode?
    • Maybe some network trace captures while is loading, to see if there is any retransmissions?

Hope this helps with your query,
