Storage Spaces Standalone, issues with useability

I'm really having an issue with how Storage Spaces will consume any new disk and tag it automatically for use with Storage Spaces. It's not so much that it does this, but it provides NO WAY to remove it so the disk can be provisioned in disk manager.

Half the information that discusses this issue revolves around S2D and the rest plainly don't work. You can't remove a physical disk from a primordial pool. You just can't and if you can, how many hours am I going to waste figuring this out. At this point it's going to be easier to do a fresh install and start over again.

But this is not good any way you spin it. Really don't understand how this passed any kind of QA.
