2 errors when trying to add account

  1. instead of hitting approve the other day hit deny
  2. then future approvals gave error and would not notify
  3. removed the account and tried re-adding
  4. error 1 says "cannot add account verify activation code or make sure push notifications are on"
  5. hit cancel, QR code has already been used
  6. Removed the app
  7. Reinstalled app same error
  8. Tried to add this account on another phone that never had this account
  9. same errors
  10. Client removed my MFA account on Azure
  11. Client checked AD blocked - says I am not blocked
  12. Changed my password
  13. Tried at least 12 times to re-add account errors continue for the last 3 days

What can my client be missing to get this fixed?
could my user be blocked even though it was removed?

My other IT person sent me this
AzureAD -> Security -> MFA -> Block/Unblock Users

See if your account is listed in the blocked users specifically for MFA. I’m wondering if when they “disabled” MFA for you, they did this by blocking the account from MFA. I did find another Microsoft blog where this caused the exact same behavior you’re seeing.

Again, according to my client I am not blocked

Client is in the middle of a D365 go live and I have no ability to login to help.
