Azure Virtual Desktop RDP access problem from a specific region

Hi !

Created an Azure Virtual Desktop ( VD ), RDP access in Central Canada ok, where I'm located,
RPD access in Southeast Asia not ok, getting authentication error.
Made password change but still getting the error, but always ok in Canada.

Can you share more details on this:

Do you access the VM using MSTSC and use a public IP address, or do you use the MSRDC client?
Did you enable RDP shortpath on the VM?
Do you use a VPN connection to your corporate network?
Do you try to access the same VM in both situations from Canada and Asia, or do you have different host pools in those regions?

Hi !

1) Access the VM using MSTC with the public IP address
2) RDP shortpath not enableb on the VM
3) No VPN connection to the corporate network
4) Access to Canada tested ok, access to Asia getting the authentication error

Thanks for sharing the details.
Just reconfirming that it is a Azure Virtual Desktop and not a Azure VM.

If you are using MSTSC the connection is trying to verify the identities of the destination VM using NLA and maybe miss line of sight to a domain controller.

Do you logon with an AD user or a local user?
