I accidentally deleted my windows 10 genuine product key.
Please help as I cannot activate my windows now.
Can anyone tell me what are the disadvantages of unactivated windows over activated windows also?

Thanks

    Hi,

There is no difference between unactivated over activated and unactivated after setup.
If computer keeps in unactivated status, it is available to use as activated in 30 days. After that there are restriction on some features and settings such as you can't change personalization, update system and others. Also the watermark about you should activated will appear on desktop.

For activation your system, we also could type "run" in Windows search box and input "slui.exe 4" in Run box to have a phone call activation.

For more measure about activation, please refer to the link below:

If any reply is useful for you, please accept it as answer.

    Bests,

    From elevated cmd.exe you can

    slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
    slmgr /ato

    Hello,

Locate your product key using this support article:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/10749/windows-10-find-product-key

Once located, go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Change product key. Type your product and re-activate.

    Hope this helps!
