stream analytics "test connection is not supported for data source type Microsoft.DBForPostgreSQL/servers/databases"

My stream analytics input is an Event Hub, and my output is an Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server instance. The input test connection works, and the test query works. I selected the existing DB instance from the dropdowns when creating the output. When I test the output connection I get "test connection is not supported for data source type Microsoft.DBForPostgreSQL/servers/databases". I can start the job and it runs, but I get no output and nothing in the activity log when I send input. Does this have anything to do with the PostgreSQL output being a "preview" feature, and if so, what is the expected timeframe? I would love to be able to test end-to-end.
