Microsoft Excel Performance Issues on SPX with Add ON's

Hi there,

We recently purchased 13 SPX for our field team and since we have started using Excel with certain business add on's . Excel has been opening and performing very slow. Once we disable the add on, excel works just fine.

We have involved our internal IT team and IT experts from add on vendors but we were not able to address the issue. The outcome was that this is probably because of the ARM architecture on these new SPX.

The excel add on we are using are

IRI Temple ( Aztech )

SAP IBP

Both of these add on ( 32/64 bit ) work perfectly fine on all other windows devices we have while using same office versions etc . Even these work fine with 5 year old surface pro we had.

I also reach out to Microsoft support ( Office and Surface ) support but no luck.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with SPX? Do I need to go back to the vendor and request them to make changes to their application which will support this on ARM or are there any workaround?

These applications are part of teams day to day activities and they are unable to do it effectively.

Thanks for your help

Regards

    Hi UBajwa,
According to your description, this issue is more related to these add-ins, it's best to continue to contact IT experts from add on vendors for assistance.
As these add-ins need to rely on Excel app to be used, the compatibility with Excel should be ensured or tested via the add-ins' developers.
    Thanks for your understanding.
