Bing Ads API - Multi factor Authentication - Updating to the new scope
Hi team,
This is regarding the “Multi factor authentication which is required for all the users who sign in through a third-party application that uses Bing Ads API starting from March 1, 2022”. We use Bing Ads authentication on our applications https://about.ads.microsoft.com/ and https://learninglab.about.ads.microsoft.com/. As of now, both our applications use ‘ads.manage’ as scope.
Based on the reference documents of the Bing Ads API, we must update our application to use the new scope ‘msads.manage’.
We must update this to the new ‘msads.manage’ scope whether the users have turned on multi-factor authentication or not. - “Here, updating the scope is mandatory but MFA set up is not”.
Could you please confirm if updating the applications to the new scope alone will suffice (as the scope ‘ads.manage’ will not be supported from March 1, 2022) and the MFA set up of users would be completely optional?
