Unable to unmute myself in Microsoft Teams

Hello there,

I am the organizer who sent out the meeting invites.
As usual, I will mute myself when I am not talking, but the problem is I can't unmute when I want to talk !
I tried leaving the call & rejoin, system asked if I would like to "add this device" or "transfer to this device". I clicked "transfer to this device" but same problem it's still MUTED.

I have to reboot my laptop and it's working again, I am pretty sure it's not laptop problem because same happened to my colleagues under same organization.

Any clue what's the problem ?

Do you have the same problem in Teams web client?

If this problem also happened in your colleagues, please contact with your Teams meeting organizer and check the meeting option "Allow mic for attendees" has been enabled like the following picture:

I have 2 scenarios which I can't unmute myself :

I am the host/organizer , this is impossible to unmute but it really happened to me

I am not the host but I am the presenter, again I can't unmute myself

I am pretty sure I am not normal attendee category

Thanks, same happened today, I am the meeting organiser and my Chief HR Office is the presenter.

She muted herself while not talking but failed to unmute... she tried to

Login from her mobile device but still muted unable to unmute

Leave meeting & rejoin but still muted unable to unmute

I am the organiser, I am sure she is not attendee level.

At the end, she has to restart entire laptop and it works again.

I did your scenarios in our environment but we did not reproduce your issue.

Could you see this option in your Teams client like the following picture? Is it a grey option?

In your first question, what is your device you are transferred? is it your microphone device?

To exclude the client issue, could you try to clear your client cache file and restart to see if it can be fixed?

Attached the video, the MIC button was greyed out.

what is your device you are transferred? is it your microphone device?
Sorry, I don't understand your question, I am on the call on my laptop and problem occurs, I tried to login from my iPad and Teams asked me the transfer questions. I am not transferring the microphone but I am trying to login from another device.

Thanks for your reply!

Could you try to follow these steps to see if it works for you?

1)Quit the meeting
2)Go into the "Calendar" section and used the "Meet now" > "Start meeting" button
3)See my current selection and select computer audio
4)Start meeting again and when you not say anything, check if it will still mute.
