Reassign OneDrive Permissions

Unfortunately, one of our employees is not able to return to his tasks anymore. Now I have his delegate who urgently needs access to OneDrive of the mentioned person. What would be the best way to achieve that ? Is there a way to add permissions so that the delegate can access data stored in other person's OneDrive folder and subfolders.

Thanks a lot.

    Hi @Eduard Filimonov

Yes, you could give another employee access to one employee's OneDrive data.

The administrator could grant access to another user to access a former employee's OneDrive data in Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

    • Sign in to the admin center as a global admin or SharePoint admin.
    • Select Show all to see the list of admin centers > In the left pane, select Admin centers > SharePoint.
    • In the left pane, select More features.
    • Under User profiles, select Open.
    • Under People, select Manage User Profiles.
    • Enter the former employee's name and select Find.
    • Right-click the former employee's account name, and then choose Manage site collection owners.
    • Add the another user to Site Collection Administrators and select Ok.

    • This user will now be able to access the former employee's OneDrive using the OneDrive URL.
Right-click the former employee again, choose “Manage Personal Site” from the context menu. Than you could access the former employee's OneDrive data.
