Strange format for posted code

Why do so many posts that appear to contain pasted code have the include directives in an extra large font with the #s missing?

    It seems that the lines that start with "#" are formatted as headings. To avoid this convenience, the code must be entered using the "101" button (<Ctrl+K>).
