Issue with Share Point Migration Tool Install

Hi, I'm facing Issue with Installing Share Point Migration Tool. I had Downloaded the tool from MS Website and when tried to Install, we are getting error as below

Error: 0x08000301:Web Failures Encountered when downloading remote Builds. (The Underlying connection was closed: An Unexpected error occurred on a sent)

  1. We have latest .NET 4.8 Version Installed
  2. We have also enabled TLS1.2 to see if this issue with Security Protocols.

Server OS is WIN 2008 R2.

Share Point Version : 3.4.121.7

Please help to provide steps in order to resolve this.

    I'm getting this error when installing the SPMT tool on Windows Server 2012 R2. I checked the error through the provided link but didn't get a proper answer. All my environment configurations, according to the document's server environment requirements, are ready for installing the SPMT tool. However, it's not installing. Why is that?

    Hi @Nelige Harish ,

    1.Which version of SharePoint Migration Tool did you download? We suggest you download and install the public preview (beta) of SPMT. It contains the latest updates and fixes. Download SPMT Public Preview.

    2.Please stop 3rd party anti-virus software on your computer prior to installation.

    3.SPMT is trying to add all the redistributions in packages, but missing some system dlls. Trying to install the package might help to resolve all the dependencies. Download: Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC.

    4.And if you are on a government cloud, you must first take these steps:
    (1)Open %localappdata%\Apps\SharePointMigrationTool\SPMT\microsoft.sharepoint.migration.common.dll.config.
    (2)Change the value of SPOEnvironmentType to:

    • 3 if you are DoD
    • 2 if you are GCC high
    • 0 if you use the Worldwide consumer cloud or GCC

    (3)Double-click "microsoft.sharepoint.migrationtool.advancedapp.exe" to start SPMT.

    are internet connections available on PC where you try to install it? If yes - try to run Fiddler, run it and then run installation again. It may show details which exact connections were not successful.

    Hello allo.

    The topic is a bit aged, but still I'm in the same bag.

    The setup:

    • Windows 2012 R2, with all updates
    • Antivirus : ESET Security
    • Internet provider box with no restriction on outgoing trafic

    The error is the same, Fiddler is reporting that the setup is trying to connect to spmt.sharepoint, and get a 200 error, then tries again and again.
