In my environment Windows 7 year 2 volume activation expiry date shows as April 4, 2022. This date is shown after running command slmgr /xpr
Per Microsoft article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/faq/extended-security-updates, the ESU End date Year 2 is January 11, 2022.

Two questions:

  1. Till which date are the Windows 7 eligible to receive security patches in my environment?
  2. Will applying Year 3 key now itself cause any issue?

Thanks.

Second and third year scenarios are explained here.

We proceeding with applying the third year ESU key irrespective of its expiry date.
From I understood so far from article shared and your comments, slmgr /xpr output is for OS activation and slmgr /dlv is for patch eligibility.
