as the title says its connecting to this site using generally http for most of the data its all incoming/downloading data 5+ gigs a month every month, i have every windows update disabled or turned off using group policy, i also have metered connection turned on, still happens, i use glasswire to monitor things and thats how i know what and where this usage is coming from, contacted MS and they were of no use as glasswire isnt there program they cant trust its info.. even under setting and network it shows the system this month so far has used over 6 gigs, some is for actual windows update, but most isnt, so anyone else have this issue or know how i can stop this from happening i have limited data and its not cheap where i live

    Hello @Devon

Akamai Net is a 3rd Party hosting provider, meaning that any of the websites or applications you use or access may use Akamai for storing their files. For example, you are browsing looking for your next holiday destination, or your favorite social network, even if you are in an specific URL website their content may be stored in Akamai's cloud storage.

The general recommendation is to disable traffic to that domain, so you can see how this is affecting you. There is an old trick to use the HOSTS file as a redirection to invalid DNS for specific addresses in order to block the traffic out.

You read more about here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/071aa6c2-cebb-47d3-b68b-ab9ed06a660f/how-to-block-a-domain-name-via-windows-firewall?forum=w7itprosecurity

Hope this helps with your query,
