Outlook is always starting in Admin-Mode

Hello Community,

I am encountering some problems with Outlook 2016 since I have upgraded our clients from Win7 to Win 10.

The problem is that outlook is always running in admin-mode. I cannot remove the "Run as Administrator" ("Als Administrator ausführen" in the Screenshot) since it is not checked on any files/shortcuts. Also I am missing the Compatibility-Tab on outlook.exe. Fully reinstalling Office is also not an option since we are using like 30+ language packs on all clients which would take forever for to un-/reinstall.

I checked online for solutions but none of them seem to work, most of them using the Comp.-Tab which I don't have.

Looking forward for your ideas :-)

Best regards,

Carsten

    Hi @ CarstenHartmann-7058 ,
    According to my search, I found that this is a know issue occurs when installing Windows updates.
    Are these computers logged in with administrator accounts?

    If not, create a new administrator account or change the account type and set it as an administrator account .
    Here is an article about create an administrator account for your reference
    Switch to Administrator account to see if the issue persists.

    Hi @Carsten Hartmann
    Thanks for yous reply and sharing your test.
    So given this case, you may try modifying registry to disable UAC .

    • Open registry and locate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Policies \System
    • Find the entries and set value to 0
      ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin = 0
      EnableLUA = 0
      PromptOnSecureDesktop = 0

    (Important: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.)
