Hi,

We manage 100 computers through SCCM (latest version).
Two times every year we upgrade Windows 10 to the latest version through a task sequence in SCCM.
Every time we perform these upgrades, there are 20-30 computers (randomly) there icon is grayed out but in the Client Activity the status is active.

We see that these computers doesn't receive anything anymore of updates or software pushed through sccm.
The only thing we can do to solve this is perform in cmd ccmsetup.exe /uninstall on the computer and push the sccm client from the sccm server again.
Two questions:

  • Why this problem happens?
  • How can we prevent this issue?

Is the SMS agent service getting disabled after the OS upgrade step has run in the IPU TS? Is the device getting stuck in provisioning mode?

The client computer can upgrade without any issue. But for some reason some random clients there sccm client can't communicate with sccm server anymore.
When I reinstall the client the issue is resolved.
